DESCRIPTIONS OF THE VOLUNTEER ROLES
Letterbox Drops (Fri 7 Aug & Fri 4 Sep + 48 hrs)
How it works:
We’re looking for 5 volunteers to help deliver important road closure notifications to local residents ahead of the event.
Shifts:
- 7 August ( +48 hours)
- 4 September ( + 48 hours)
Collection:
Please collect your bundle of letters and flyers from the school office at PPS between 8:30am and 3:30pm on the Friday of your allocated week.
Delivery can be completed anytime on the Friday or over the weekend (ideally within 48 hours of collection).
What you’ll receive:
- A bundle of approximately 100 letters/flyers
- A map clearly marking your allocated streets
What you’ll do:
Walk your allocated local streets and deliver letters to residents’ letterboxes. These letters notify neighbours about upcoming road closures and invite them to get involved in the event.
Light walking involved – comfy shoes recommended!
We’ll divide the surrounding streets evenly among volunteers to make it quick and manageable for everyone.
Early Bib Collection (Fri 18 Sep & Sat 19 Sep)
Location: Pymble Public School Campus
Shifts:
- Friday 19 September, 2:45–4:30pm
- Saturday 20 September, 2:00–4:00pm
Help us hand out race bibs ahead of event day. Meet and greet participants and get them ready to run!
Event Day Bib Collection & Late Registrations (Sun 20 Sep)
Location: Pymble Public School Campus
Shifts:
- Sunday 20 September, 6:00–8:30am
Race day! Help us manage last-minute bib pickup and direct any unregistered participants to register online. We’ll show you how.
BBQ Crew (Event Day - Sun 20 Sep)
Location: Pymble Public School Campus
Shifts:
- Sunday 20 September, 6am – 8am
- Sunday 20 September, 8am – 10am
We need 8 people per shift to cook, serve, take payments, and keep the BBQ buzzing! We’ll be serving sausages, egg and bacon rolls, cold drinks and ice blocks. A fun and fast-paced job with a delicious smell!
Race Marshals (Event Day - Sun 20 Sep)
Location: On the route
Shifts:
- Sunday 20 September, 7am – 9:15am
We need 20 enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to direct runners and walkers along the course. No experience needed — just a friendly smile and loud cheering voice! You’ll ensure participants stay on course and everything runs smoothly.
Merchandise Stall (Event Day - Sun 20 Sep)
Location: Pymble Public School Campus
Shifts:
- Sunday 20 September, 6am – 8am
- Sunday 20 September, 8am – 10am
Help sell Pymble Fun Run t-shirts and other merch to our supporters. We’ll need 4 people per shift. A great job if you like chatting and being part of the buzz in the run village!
Medal Presentation (Event Day - Sun 20 Sep)
Location: Pymble Public School Campus
Shifts:
- Sunday 20 September, 7:30am – 9:30am
You’ll be stationed at the finish line to hand out medals to all runners and walkers as they complete their event. It’s a simple but hugely rewarding role—your smile and high-five might be the highlight of someone’s day!
